I was recently was listening to a book-on-tape titled The Big Short. One of the things the infamous Michael Burry mentioned, stuck to my mind.
He says, he does not like to defend or sell an idea, cause when we get too attached to an idea, then we are not willing to admit or accept its failure to abandon it.
You might face a lot of this at work or in your personal life as well. The originator of an idea is so sold on its success that she is blinded by the possibility of it not working out. This goes back to the notion us humans not wanting to be wrong, definitely not in the face of others.
Don’t get too attached to your ideas, it is okay for a few of them to not span out. Rather focus on creating and trying out new ideas and discarding the ones not meeting your expectations.
